Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Good Home List collects when you visit thegoodhomelist.online, why, and what rights you have over it. It is written to describe what this site actually does, rather than to cover every possibility.

The short version

We do not run analytics. We do not set cookies. We do not have accounts, a newsletter, or advertising. Unless you email us or use the contact form, we hold nothing that identifies you beyond the standard server logs our host keeps.

Who is responsible

The Good Home List is operated by Rona Jane Sabatin. For any privacy question or request, email hello@thegoodhomelist.online.

Server logs

This site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the time. These logs exist to serve the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults.

We do not use these logs to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else. Netlify processes them as our hosting provider under its own privacy terms.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. Submissions are handled by Netlify Forms and are visible to us in the Netlify dashboard.

We use that information only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anyone else. Messages are kept while the conversation is useful and deleted when it is not. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.

What we store in your browser

One value, in session storage, recording which affiliate tracking ID applies to your visit. It is deleted when you close the tab, is never sent to a server, and contains nothing that identifies you. The cookie policy covers this in full.

Analytics

None currently. If we add analytics later, we will choose a privacy-conscious service that does not track individuals across sites, and we will update this page before it goes live.

Affiliate links and Amazon

This site contains affiliate links. When you click one, you leave this site and the destination retailer records that you arrived from here so any purchase can be credited to us. That happens on their site, under their privacy policy.

What we see in return is aggregate: a count of clicks, items ordered and commission earned. We do not receive your name, your email address, your payment details, or anything else that identifies you as an individual customer. Amazon does not share that with us.

Legal basis for processing

For readers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site. Contact form messages are processed on the basis of your consent, given by choosing to send us a message, and our legitimate interest in replying to you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how it is processed, or receive a copy of it. Readers in the EEA and UK have these rights under the GDPR. Readers in California have comparable rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what is collected and the right to request deletion.

We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you are welcome to confirm that with us.

To exercise any right, email hello@thegoodhomelist.online. We will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or make you justify the request.

International transfers

The site is operated from the Philippines and hosted on infrastructure in the United States and elsewhere. If you are in the EEA or UK, your information may be processed outside your country. Where that happens, it is limited to the server logs and contact messages described above.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and is a static site, which means there is no database of visitor information to breach. No system is perfectly secure, but the most reliable protection is not holding data in the first place, and that is the approach here.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if what we collect changes, with a revised date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say what changed rather than quietly editing the text.
